Stettler Information & Referral programs change depending on the needs of the community and we try our best to fill the gaps in services. We work hand in hand with Alberta Works, Stettler Mental Health and Addictions, Stettler FCSS, to assist individuals and families with barriers to day to day living.
Stettler Information & Referral works with Rairdan Services, Inc. to offer online volunteer applications and volunteer opportunities on this website.
Provide assistance with Old Age Security, Canada Pension Plan, Alberta Seniors and Special Needs Assistance forms and help to explain the correspondence
Provide information sessions on these topics through the Stettler Learning Centre and upon request.
Information and Referral
We provide information on the services and programs in the Town and County of Stettler
Assist with many kinds of forms –Citizenship and Immigration, Child Tax, Private Pension Plan forms, etc
Guardianship, Trusteeship and Personal Directives
Assist families to prepare forms for Court ordered Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship
Presentations given on all three topics upon request and also conducted through Stettler Learning Centre
Assist individuals to complete Personal Directives
Commissioner for Oaths service provided free of charge
Stettler Volunteer Centre
Match volunteers with volunteer opportunities
Hold an annual volunteer recognition during National Volunteer Week
Host the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program – we prepare income taxes free of charge for low income
Assist with Emergency Social Services in case of an emergency- volunteer recruitment, etc
Currently working with the school to find volunteer opportunities for students to help clean seniors in need of assistance with their yard work.
Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic
We have a partnership with the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic to provide a free video conference session with a lawyer for any type of legal matter. Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic does the intake and if the person is eligible for services, then they can access this service at our office.
Stettler Regional Early Child Development Committee
We are the fiscal agents for this committee for the last 6 years. The goal of the committee is to assist families with children 0-6 years, with information and activities that assist with their child’s development in all facets of their lives. We provide training opportunities for other professionals and work with other Coalitions across the province. We have supported the Early Years Fair, recreational family pass for the Stettler Rec Centre, Amazing Mini Challenge, set up a Toy Lending Library (now housed at the Stettler Library) and are currently working on a new and improved Stettler connects website.
